Safe collects food for the Salvation Army

Safe collects food for the Salvation Army

December release

Staff at Safe in Leicester have been collecting tinned, dry and non-perishable food and drink for a Christmas food bank ran by The Salvation Army. Two large boxes full of donations have now been collected from staff, with Safe donating £100 worth of food in addition to the cause.

Leanne Chater supplied boxes for kitchens at the Safe head office in Leicester to collate donations. Leanne asked fellow employees to bring in from home any packaged food they could spare from their cupboards to donate to the less fortunate, or to buy something to give to the cause. As part of this drive, the Salvation Army are also collecting donations of toys, nappies and toiletries.

If you’d like to donate something for this collection, you can drop off food parcels at the Salvation Army directly in Leicester City centre, their full address details are available from http://www.salvationarmy.org.uk/leicester-central. It was thought around 300 people in need used this particular food bank last Christmas.
