Safe Milling helps leading flour mills optimise in times of below average wheat production

18 June 2013

Figures just released by the National Farmers Union (NFU) indicate that 2013 will be the second successive below average wheat production for the UK. Indeed a snapshot poll of arable farmers warned that the harvest this year could be almost 30% smaller than it was last year. When raw material is in short supply this inevitably results in pressure on prices and so there has never been a better time for flour millers to look at optimising their business systems in order to ensure that they extract the maximum amount from their business operations to help avoid unnecessary costs through areas of inefficiency.

Safe has over 20 years of experience in delivering new ideas to some of the UK’s leading flour milling companies, we have also for many years been associate members of National Association of British and Irish Millers (NABIM) helping us to understand the very specific needs of the industry such as dealing with highly variable raw material availability and costs whilst encompassing the strict and stringent audit and regulatory requirements.

More than a dozen of the largest UK flour mills already rely on the Safe Milling solutions to run their businesses, every day, 365 days a year, and all are committed to on-going long term relationships with Safe.

Safe Milling software is a flexible, real-time enterprise wide business system delivering efficiency from wheat to flour with no data re-entry required, supported by class-leading Safe Financials and Safe Credit Control.

Safe believes that spending in excess of 20 years working with the leading flour milling companies in the country has resulted in the Safe Milling team having an unrivalled level of knowledge and experience of the milling business and this is one of the things that makes us different from other more generalist solution providers, and therefore able to provide more value to our customers. We believe our core values of openness and transparency, innovation and passion, entrepreneurialism and endeavour are reflected in the way that Safe engage with each of our customers delivering a flexible, responsive and dedicated service.

Safe are now actively engaging in discussions with other milling and food production companies in order to explore how the Safe Milling solution can deliver the same flexibility, scaleability and savings that have been achieved over the last 20 years by the UK’s leading milling companies.
